H. Wailana Kamauu Jr

As the CEO of American LED and Energy, Wailana has applied his expertise in startups and turnarounds, project management, and sales/market development to deliver outstanding results. Wailana’s focus of preserving the environment and leaving as little of a carbon footprint as possible has him excited about the AL&E products and helping companies go “Green”.Wailana’s Kuleana (personal responsibility) is to protect our ’Aina (land). And with today’s growing technology, his company is always looking for new ways to create a sustainable lifestyle that incorporates traditional values. Wailana has over 35 years of leadership and team development experience. As a visionary and result-focused executive, his diverse background includes: developing and executing new market-area strategies, recruiting and retaining high producing small-business entrepreneurs, building relationships and networks across organizations, and achieving positive and profitable results in business and military environments. Wailana received his BA at Brigham Young University and holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration (MPA) from Golden Gate University, San Francisco. Wailana’s professional designations include CLU, CLF, and CASL. In addition, Wailana completed postgraduate studies in national security during his time in the Armed Forces. He completed executive development and finance programs from Columbia University while a State Farm executive. Wailana has served as a board of director for several organizations including the Local Initiative Support Council (LISC) in San Francisco, the Native Hawaiian Chamber of Commerce, and Ho’okupa’a.

"Kia" Kiaokalani Kamauu

As the COO of American LED and Energy, Kia has applied his technical and sales ability to provide exceptional customer service. He is the Marketing and Sales Director and provides the technical expertise needed. Kia is exceptional to work with on any project. He has a unique balance of creative and technical abilities. He's concerned about providing an exceptional experience for his clients and will go the extra mile to do so. Kia is professional and responsive. He takes initiative and comes up with new ideas and concepts. Kia worked a couple years in construction with Edgewater in California, and worked as an installer of voice, data, audio, and video systems at Simple Connections while in college. Kia earned his Bachelors of Science in March 2004 after attending Brigham Young University and Excelsior College of Albany New York. Kia has worked in leadership positions in the business world for the past 9 years. He has been completing formal and informal training for lighting and sustainability solutions since December 2007. In 2012, Kia was invited and earned the Management Development for Entrepreneurs (MDE) certificate from the UCLA Anderson School of Management. Kia is active in the Rebuild Hawaii Consortium and working towards the development innovative solutions for energy and resource efficiency issues. He serves on the Energy Committee for The Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii. Kia is the Scout Master of a local Boy Scout Troop and teaches boys a respect and love for nature among other things. He also is a member of other community organizations.

Kathy Kamauu

Kathy is the innovative, results-focused CFO of American LED and Energy Corporation. She possesses an impressive ability in building relationships and networks at all levels of an organization, with positive and profitable results in business and educational environments. She has taken 32 years of teaching experience (math) and combined it with 12 years of running family owned businesses. She holds a master's degree in Education (MAED) from University of Phoenix; a bachelor degree from University of the State of New York, emphasis in Psychology; credential to teach Algebra and other math courses up to the college level. She is licensed to facilitate The Team Diagnostic Assessment Training. Kathy’s leadership, expertise in marketing, administrative/financial business needs and project management will deliver outstanding customer service to AL&E’s clients. Her most rewarding role is being a wife, mother of five and grandmother of 14.

Mele Demille

Mele is our Executive Assistant. Primary duties include registering our company with the federal, state, and municipal governments insuring our status and information is current. She applied for and updates our CCR, DUNS, and CAGE info. She maintains our MBE registration with variuos corporations such as WalMart, Disney Corp, Johnson Control (JCI), US Bank and about 400 other companies. This is critical after bids are submitted and these soliciting companies or the government needs to validate our credentials. Mele is a valuable member to American LED & Energy, Corp. (AL&E). She is a strong leader, creative in her roles and is a great asset to the company. Prior to AL&E, Mele was an Agency Recruiter for State Farm Insurance covering the state of Utah. While in this position she served on the Executive board with the Utah Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. Mele received her BS degree, April 2004 at Brigham Young University and also holds a Charter Life Underwriter (CLU) professional designation. Other licenses are: Property & Casualty, Life & Healthy Insurance. She is a positive person with outstanding time management skills, organizational skills, and strong work ethics. We are thrilled to have her a part of our team.

H. Daniel Gandall

Daniel graduated from the University of Hawaii at Manoa Shidler College of Business with a degree in marketing. Daniel Started off as an intern with AL&E and is now a business development associate and project management executive. He assists with completing financial analysis, project management and strategic planning while building and maintaining professional relationships and partnerships.

Christian Putegnat

Christian began as an intern for American LED & Energy in June of 2014. He is a student at Brigham Young University-Provo, studying mechanical engineering, and loves any opportunity to expand his knowledge and his skills in the technical fields. Although he has not yet taken a specialized route in his studies, he has special interest in conservation of energy as well as engineering in the medical field. Outside of his studies Christian enjoys surfing with his friends and family and running competitively.

Bryce K. Hosaka

Bryce is responsible for assisting in the Business Development for the company. His duties include project management and operational duties such as estimating and completing audits, reviewing/soliciting and submitting bids, and business strategy formulation and implementation. His past experiences include accounting in the residential and commercial construction industry and financial analysis in the utilities and energy industry. Bryce holds a BSBA in Finance from Hawaii Pacific University.
